 HONOR SOCIETY OF NURSING
2024 EVENTS

SAFE Kids Easter Egg Hunt- March 23, 2024

10AM-2PM

Safe Kids Clark County is a non-profit organization dedicated to the prevention of accidental deaths and injuries to children. More children die from accidental injuries (traumas) than all childhood diseases combined. We are part of the Safe Kids Worldwide Campaign. We have been housed at Sunrise Children’s Hospital since 1993. We are currently housed in the Trauma Services Department because everything we do is pediatric trauma prevention.

Each year Safe Kids hosts two big events as a fundraiser. In the spring, we host an Easter Egg Hunt and in the fall the Halloween Carnival.  We use these two events not only as fundraisers but as big “trauma prevention” events. We all know that when you say to a parent, “Come to a safety fair” we will have less turnout than a fun event like these two. We have incorporated trauma prevention into our game booths.

We need over 60 volunteers for this event. I do ask that once the students commit, they truly commit. I realize that things happen in people's lives or people get sick, I just ask that they are aware that we need them and hope that they will take this seriously.

Honor Society Members will receive one community credit for participating. Take a photo of yourself at the event for proof and upload it for credit.
